General Hospital of Komotini received the Gold Distinction during the Healthcare Business Awards 2019 for the results of the MediciNet II Project.

The ceremony took place in Athens, on Wednesday 2nd of October 2019.

General Hospital of Komotini received the Gold Distinction in the category Quality of Services (Pillar Hospitals – Private Clinics – Diagnostic Centers), in the context of the event Healthcare Business Awards 2019,since in a period of 26 months implemented focused actions with tangible results, contributing substantially to the Improvement of health services in the cross-border region of Greece and Bulgaria. We recall that with funds coming from the MediciNet II project, the renovation of hospital's central operating theatres was carried out, as well as a number of educational activities for the hospital employees and the local population.

The annual ceremony took place in Lοlou venue in Paiania, Attica, and on behalf of the Hospital, the award was received by the Director of the Administrative Service Evangelos Politeiadis and the Project Manager of the MediciNet II project, Panagiotis Michailidis.

Representing the Greek Ministry of Health, Mr. Ioannis Kotsiopoulos, Secretary General of Health Services, honored the event with his presence.

It is worth noting that it is the first time that General Hospital of Komotini "Sismanoglio" receives an award at this event, which was organized for the fourth consecutive year and tends to become an institution in the field of health in Greece.
