For the first time a joint medical seminar was held with the participation of doctors of the two hospitals.
With a total duration of 16 hours, the two-day training seminar (Master Class) took place on Saturday 13.4.2019 and Sunday 14.4.2019 at the premises of the General Hospital of Komotini.
The seminar was coordinated and implemented by a scientific team from the Master of Science Program “Global Health – Disaster Medicine” of the School of Medicine of National Kapodistrian University of Athens, and was attended by doctors of the two hospitals, actively improving the cross-border cooperation and the emergency response mechanisms.
Due to the great interest shown by physicians of both hospitals, a total of 35 people - instead of 20 initially foreseen - were trained during the masterclass. The educational program included both theoretical and practical training in issues of "disaster medicine" and preparation of hospitals for the reception of mass casualty losses.
